The Wanderer is always on the lookout for real stories from real travellers. Whether you're a CMCA member with a journey to share, or a writer keen to contribute, here's how to get involved.

We want to hear about the destinations that made your trip unforgettable, the detours that surprised you, and the tips you wish you'd know before you left. Your stories help fellow members plan their own adventures.
What we're looking for
First-person stories and photographs about a journey or destination you loved. Good stories usually answer a few key questions:
- What made this destination special?
- What did you see and do there?
- Can you describe the destination/journey in a way that will inspire others?
- Was there anything funny or unexpected along the way?
- What are your top tips for anyone considering the same trip?
- What inspired you to visit this destination, and who travelled with you?
- What sort of RV do you have and what type of travel do you enjoy most?
The details
- Stories should be around 800 words
- Include about 15 good quality images, captioned with who's in the photo and where it was taken
- Add a short 'Journey Planner' at the end: how to get there, anything RVers should know (rig size limits, road conditions), and any parks our tours worth mentioning.
Not a writer? No problem
If putting a full story together isn't your thing, we've got a simple Q&A format. Just answer the questions that are relevant to your trip and our team with help shape it into a feature.
Final checklist before you submit
- Story or Q&A responses in a Word document, no more than 800 words
- Your full name and CMCA member number at the top
- About 15 captioned, high-quality images
- Place names and details checked for accuracy
- A good proof read
Send your story and images to editorial@cmca.au. We'll send you a draft layout to check before it goes to print, so keep an eye out and reply promptly with any changes.
