There’s nothing quite like hitting the open road in your home on wheels, and if you’re looking for the ultimate destination to anchor your outback odyssey, mark your calendar for 20 to 22 August for the Mundi Mundi Bash

This bucket-list event, staged on the red-dirt plains of outback New South Wales, just 40 kilometres from Broken Hill, is a dream rally experience for motorhomers and caravanners from across the country. And, for the first time ever, CMCA members will be treated to a reserved camping area, making it the perfect place to meet up with fellow RVers.

People travel from every corner of country for the Bash

Easy Does It: Sealed Roads All the Way

No four-wheel drive? No problem! The Mundi Mundi Bash is completely accessible via sealed roads. The journey can also be comfortably tackled with a caravan or motorhome. Whether you're cruising in from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or further afield, the drive is part of the adventure! Dramatic outback landscapes peppered with iconic towns and open skies that stretch forever make the Mundi Mundi Bash the perfect centrepiece to the road trip of a lifetime.

Aussie Anthems Under Outback Skies

Australian music is the heartbeat of the Bash. The 2026 line-up is a roll call of Aussie legends – The Teskey Brothers, Jon Stevens, John Butler, Boy & Bear, Baby Animals, Jessica Mauboy, The Whitlams, Leo Sayer… the list goes on! And when 15,000 revellers rise to their feet as the sun sets over the Barrier Ranges, there’s magic in the air. It’s a celebration of classic rock and Aussie spirit.

Where Mateship Meets Music

Most festival-goers don’t just come for the music – the outback camaraderie and sense of community keep people coming back year after year. It’s hard to beat the freedom of camping under the stars, swapping road trip stories, and sharing laughs around the campfire. Whether you’re travelling solo, a couple or in convoy with mates, you’ll find your tribe in the red dirt. With BYO food, drinks and kids and dogs welcome, it’s one of the most relaxed and friendly music festivals you’ll ever attend.

Quirky Traditions and Outback Fun, Mundi style

At the Mundi Mundi Bash, the music may be the main event, but it’s the quirky traditions that truly set it apart from any other festival in Australia. Where else can you dance the ‘Nutbush’ with 6,000 other revellers, run a lap in your undies for charity, and help form a human map of Australia – all in the middle of the outback? These traditions aren’t just fun, they’re full of heart, bring people together, raise serious money for great causes, and create memories (and photo ops) you’ll talk about for years.

You just might make a life-long pal at the Bash

Explore Beyond the Bash

Broken Hill itself – Australia’s first heritage-listed city – is packed with things to see and do. Wander its art galleries, explore the town’s mining history, or sip a milkshake at the famous Bell’s Milk Bar. Nearby Silverton is a must-see, with its Mad Max claim to fame and eccentric desert vibe. Or take your rig further afield to the haunting opal fields of White Cliffs, the wetlands of Menindee Lakes, or the winding Darling River – with stops at characterful towns like Tilpa, Louth and Bourke.
