The Ultimate Gear Store ... With a Difference

Founded by Richard Harris, The Ultimate Gear Store is a store with a difference, with every product personally tested by Richard himself.

Richard Harris' hands-on approach to crafting the ultimate outdoor gear experience.

Founded by Richard Harris, The Ultimate Gear Store is a store with a difference, with every product personally tested by Richard himself. With decades of experience in four-wheel driving, hiking, mountaineering and whitewater rafting, Richard ensures that each item meets the highest standards. Launched in February 2024, the store offers quality gear like the innovative EQUALISER (which you can read more about on the next page) and the Ultimate Camp BBQ. Customers can trust that every product provides the best value and reliability, thanks to Richard’s hands-on approach and dedication to outdoor excellence.

THE EQUALISER

When it’s time to manage your tyre pressure, nothing matches Ultimate Gear Store’s EQUALISER. While we didn’t invent it, we did perfect it. By analysing competitors and improving existing designs, we added features that others overlooked to save costs. At The Ultimate Gear Store, we believe in offering competitively priced products with standout features.

Tired of bending down to check or adjust tyre pressure? The EQUALISER saves your knees and back. Simply clip the hose fittings to your tyres, and you can stand comfortably while using the EQUALISER manifold controller to check, inflate or deflate your tyres. Whether connected to two or four tyres, the EQUALISER equalises the air pressure, providing greater vehicle stability and reducing tyre wear.

• EQUALISER two hose normally $199.00 ON SALE now for $139.30

• EQUALISER four hose normally $299.00 ON SALE now for $209.30 (incl shipping in AU) until 30th September 2024*

The EQUALISER is available in two versions – a four-tyre system and a two-tyre system – both with these features:

• Highly accurate digital gauge: Accurate within 0.01 bar (0.14 psi), ensuring precise readings.

• Multiple pressure units: Reads air pressure in psi, BAR, KPA, and kg/cm² at the push of a button.

• Built-in torch light: Provides extra light when needed.

• Backlit digital display: Easily backlit at night with a single button.

• Auto shut-off: Turns off automatically when not connected; manual shut-off option available.

• Quality connectors: American-style four-teeth tyre connectors for a secure lock on Australian, USA and European tyre valves.

• Robust hoses: Long, abrasion-resistant hoses reach each wheel.

• Versatile attachments: Standard quarter-inch compressor attachment and Schrader connection for both portable and commercial compressors.

• Dust caps: Each connector has a dust cap to keep out grit.

• Compact carry bag: Lightweight and fits easily under a front seat.

THE AIRCHECKER TPMS

Many TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems) look similar … but they vary greatly in quality. Inferior ones often give false signals and inaccurate readings. At The Ultimate Gear Store, we test all products thoroughly before selling them. During testing, the AIRCHECKER impressed us by accurately detecting and monitoring a slow leak that led to a flat tyre – proving its reliability and accuracy.

The AIRCHECKER is easy to install, taking less than 10 minutes with everything provided in the box. Just screw on the external tyre sensors, with or without the supplied locking nuts. It’s solar-powered and rarely needs additional charging, but you can use the included USB cable if needed. This system alerts you to a leaking or flat tyre immediately – enhancing safety for you and your family. The four robust waterproof sensors are designed for harsh conditions, and the AIRCHECKER also improves fuel economy and reduces tyre wear.

• AIRCHECKER normally $149.00 ON SALE now for $104.30 (incl shipping in AU) until 30th September 2024*

THE ADVENTURER’S GUIDE TO MOTORHOMES

Richard Harris’ latest book ‘The Adventurer’s Guide to Motorhomes’ is a must-have for anyone who owns a motorhome or wants to own one.

Here’s what Dick Smith himself has to say about it! “I’m confident readers will benefit from this book not just through its wealth of practical tips and advice, but also from the breadth of real-world experience Richard shares. Richard has taken numerous 4WD motorhome adventures throughout Australia – including an epic crossing of the country from west to east, traversing the Simpson Desert. This journey successfully retraced the first-ever west-east crossing of Australia by the Leyland Brothers exactly 50 years previously. Richard and his youngest son Ben took just nine days to cross Australia in their Suncamper, setting a record believed to be the fastest-ever crossing of the country in a motorhome.

“I believe Richard’s extensive knowledge and experience is what really sets this manual apart. It’s a handy resource for anyone who dreams of owning a motorhome, packing it up and exploring the wildest reaches of our amazing country.”

• Normally $39.95 ON SALE now for $27.97 (incl shipping in AU) until 30th September 2024*

WHAT NEXT FOR RICHARD HARRIS?

Richard Harris is wrapping up an exciting new film called ‘Wheels Across Australia’ which follows a journey with his youngest son Ben on the fastest crossing of Australia in a motorhome. The film celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Leyland Brothers crossing in 1966, with original footage from the Leyland Brothers film found interwound within this great new Australian adventure film.
