Pedal With A Polly

Former WA minister David Templeman is bringing Mandurah’s history to life with guided e-bike tours that blend local stories, street theatre and political parody, finishing with a waterfront seafood lunch.

What politician doesn’t love a bit of spin? In Mandurah, a former government minister is pedalling a new public-facing career leading historical bike tours. The new Magical Mandurah with the Minister guided e-bike tours provide a unique insight into the town through the eyes of passionate local and former Western Australian Culture and Arts Minister David Templeman. The ex-politician, who served as a state MP for more than 20 years, leads visitors on a three-hour tour through Mandurah, peppered with colourful stories, theatre and a touch of political parody. The Bike Kiosk tour starts on the Mandurah foreshore and moseys into the heart of the city, visiting one of the famous Giants of Mandurah before finishing with a seafood lunch at Cicerello’s overlooking the waterfront. Along the way, Templeman tells stories of shipwrecks and colourful characters, interspersed with costume changes and spontaneous street theatre. Tours cost $161.50 and include a donation to the Mandurah Historical Society.
