Member Stop Over Facility

Exclusive to CMCA members, the Member Stop Over (MSO) facility allows members to stay in a friendly, homestay environment on fellow members’ private properties.

Stay in a friendly, homestay environment with fellow members

Meeting new friends and sharing in the camaraderie of the RV lifestyle is one of the most enjoyable aspects of life on the road, and what better way to do that than meeting and staying with fellow Club members?

Exclusive to CMCA members, the Member Stop Over (MSO) facility allows members to stay in a friendly, homestay environment on fellow members’ private properties. Property owners enjoy the benefit of meeting new and interesting people and getting to know other members, while travellers have access to safe and peaceful campsites to park up for the night.

Each MSO will provide a unique experience. Facilities available for use will vary from property to property, but some include fire pits, electricity, toilets, and water in their offering. Pets are also welcome at many MSOs, which is great for those travelling with their furry friends.

Conditions do apply, so be sure to respectfully adhere to any requirements when people welcome you onto their properties. MSOs may require vehicles to be self-contained and limited lengths of stays apply. Depending on the property itself, some MSOs may not be able to accommodate rigs of certain sizes.

With over 50 members offering up their properties to fellow CMCA members, this program is the perfect alternative for people looking for a safe, secure low-cost parking option.

Becoming An MSO

This is an exciting program giving members the opportunity to meet fellow members and make lifelong friends. It also gives members the chance to experience a variety of non-commercial accommodation options and visit a variety of locations across the country they would not usually visit under other circumstances.

Any CMCA member can apply to become an MSO as long as they have a suitable property that meets the following requirements:

  • Overnight parking for CMCA members at no cost
  • Entrance must be a minimum of three metres wide
  • Reasonably level ground for parking
  • Drinking water (access to water is required, however, on the rare occasions where a property only has tank water or limited supply, an exception may be made with ‘restricted access of water’ noted in the MSO Directory)
  • Members must be able to exit a property without needing to reverse (there must be adequate room for a vehicle, within the nominated size limit, to enter and manoeuvre within the site, and exit the site without reversing from the site).

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of or have any questions, please get in touch with NHQ staff who will be able to assist with your application and enquiries.

We would love to be able to grow this benefit and offer members a wide range of these friendly homestay environments.
