Camel Burgers

Camel burgers! Surprised?

Recipe

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 camel burgers (available in selected supermarkets)
  • 2 brioche burger buns (or similar)
  • 4 slices of cheese – Gruyère or cheddar
  • 1 ripe tomato – sliced
  • 2 tspn of aioli
  • 2 tblspn of tamarind chutney or your favourite relish
  • A handful of salad leaves
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Extra virgin olive oil

METHOD

Oil and season the burgers and place onto a preheated hot barbecue. Cook them for around 2-3 minutes on each side.

Slice the buns and place on the barbecue to warm through. Put a slice of cheese on each cut side of the bun and allow it to start to melt.

On the base of each bun put a couple of slices of tomato, then remove buns from the barbecue to add a dollop of aioli to the tomato on each bun. Now add the salad leaves.

Remove the cooked burgers and place onto the salad leaves. Spoon the chutney onto the burgers.

Finally, place the top on the bun and skewer with a cocktail stick or similar, to hold the burgers together.

Serve immediately. You’ll wish you had a larger mouth; these burgers are big!
